Your Atlanta Thrashers made a number of off season moves, most notably, releasing the coaching staff from head man John Anderson to assistants Randy Cunneyworth, Todd Nelson and Steve Weeks. Rick Dudley was promoted to the General Manager position and Don Waddell to the position of Team President. One of the first moves Dudley made was to hire Craig Ramsay, formerly a Boston Bruin Assistant. John Torchetti and Mike Stothers were hired on as assistants. Team wise, the Thrashers signed 9 free agents, most notable being Fredrik Pettersson, Chris Mason and Tim Stapleton.
